What a busy week, and all generally sports related.
The early part of the week was heavily focused on calls with key riders and staff of the new Sky racing team.
On Wednesday I spent a great day up at Sports City in Manchester. This is a great facility where a lot of national sports are based. It is also the home of the North region of the English Institute of Sport.
My day was a day of back to back meetings with the senior EIS advisor and a number of our athlete clients.
My day ended up at the Velodrome, with meetings with some key members of the British Cycling team. We have been working with these guys for a while now, but it never ceases to amaze me at their professionalism and passion for their sport, and perhaps more importantly their focus and process towards achieving medals at the 2012 games.
The similarities between business and sport are often muted, but when you see a slick operation such as GB Cycling, led by the very impressive Dave Brailsford, then you realise that in some cases businesses can learn quite a bit from how they operate. Staff Development, team working communication and some very clear goals are all evident in everything they do.
As a team here, we are very proud to be associated with them.
Life in the office is back to normal now. Everyone has had their holidays, and has come back relaxed and refreshed. Client's too seem to have come back on a mission and our diary's are filling up.
The week finishes with our monthly five-a-side match. Watch out for Alan's post on the match next week.

Cucumbers
So, Chris Smith has given Carte Blanche to say what I want. A bit dangerous after all the people I have either insulted, annoyed or offended via emails. But no bad language and lets see what we come up with.
Dean Morgan is on holiday and Chris is currently sitting in the big mans number 1 seat. Dale (GFM), who share the offices with us has just been over to arrange another GMS v GFM (Granite Financial Management) inter Co football 5 a side match. Good of him really after being on the receiving end of 17 - 5 and 12 - 9 thrashings in previous games.
Just been down to water Farmer Morgans plants. Cucumbers are looking good and the tomatoes are coming along nicely.
OK then back to the bank reconciliation.

Let's Blog
Welcome to my blog.
Talking to Nicola yesterday (http://www.theweddingshop.co.uk/) prompted me to get this blog up and running.
I have been thinking of capturing our antics and thoughts on a blog for a long time, but have only just found the time to go through the set up process. However: We are up !
GMS World is such an interesting place. We never know what each day will hold and we deal with so many fantastic charactors from a range of industries. Life here is never dull.
Hopefully this blog will serve as an insight into this world and will give our followers a human perspective on some of the going's on behind the walls of 122 Feering Hill.
Hope you enjoy the reading.
